This course is designed to teach students about rivers and how they shape the landscape through the processes of erosion, transportation and deposition.
In this series of lessons, the student will learn what landforms are and how they are created, they will also examine two of the world’s better known river-created landforms: the Horseshoe Bend in the Grand Canyon and the Nile Delta in Egypt.
Comprising of six lessons planned around students in grades 4 to 6 this course combines education with fun through the use of several pieces of interactive content dispersed throughout the various lessons.
At the end of this course the student should be able to describe the processes undertaken by a river, the landforms rivers create and discuss the physical causes of flooding and the human factors which can increase the risk of flooding.
